I have known Mr. Lyman since 2009, and granted him a contract to re-assemble a 150 year-old hewn log house I had previously acquired. I have but the highest praises for Mr. Lyman’s workmanship, dedication to his trade, and unrivalled skills in the art of log building.
I first became aware of Mr. Lyman’s work when I was working in Gatineau Park as a ski patroller. Two of the ski chalets, both hewn log houses dating back to the 19th century, had been restored by Mr. Lyman. The impeccable work performed on these cabins was enough to convince me that I had to hire him to perform the work on my own home.
Mr. Lyman’s jovial demeanour and passion for the craft expressed through his work is enough to instil this same passion for the building trades in anyone who spends enough time around this kind-hearted man. It is without hesitation that I express my full support for Mr. Lyman’s application for membership with the Conseil des Métiers d’Arts du Québec.
